Small World Solutions delivers highly interactive workshops on unconscious / implicit biases. The content includes discussions on how people put each other in boxes and how this relates to our own experiences, backgrounds, perceptions, and the lack of knowledge about other groups. Everyone holds unconscious beliefs about various social and identity groups, and these biases stem from one’s tendency to organize social worlds by categorizing. The group activities include opportunities to identify blind spots in our own perceptions of others, as well as learn the uniqueness of every individual, recognizing that each person has value. Our strengths are when we become aware of our own biases, how to manage them and how to improve on our ability to connect with others. As a participant in this class you will discover different perspectives and how to see the world from various lenses.
